Support for Felipe's Beloved Family

To all my friends,

On January 22nd, 2021, our uncle and cousin Felipe de Jesus Rangel Galindo, passed away in his home in Denton, Texas due to COVID-19. It is a very difficult time for his family, not only because of the enormous loss of a wonderfully devoted husband and father, but because he was the head of the family financially. He has left behind his wife Elma, and daughters Kelsey, Sarah, and Wanda, 12, 10, and 8 years old. They meant absolutely everything to him, and he to them.

His wife and daughters live in Guatemala. Felipe worked and lived in Texas to support them and was working to provide a brighter future for his daughters. He had made plans to finally visit them on January 27th (only five days after his passing,) after not being able to see them for nearly a year. He was in the middle of the immigration process for his wife and daughters, just waiting for the last interview at the American consulate to finally be able to live with him in Texas. The distance and timing, on top of a dysfunctional and cruel US immigration process, has made it exceptionally hard for this family to be together, especially at this time of such a tragic loss. 

His unexpected loss of life due to covid has been a horrible situation for everyone who loved him, especially for his wife and daughters. We would like to ask for your help with a contribution to aid in covering a little for funeral expenses, but mostly to help them through the immigration process to continue Felipe’s dream of giving his girls the opportunity for a better future in the United States. It was his biggest goal and we want to make sure they can continue with their plans despite the tragic change in circumstance. We greatly appreciate your help no matter the amount.

We are trying to reach a sum of $10,000 to cover these expenses. Knowing that it is a very difficult time for many right now, we appreciate your support.

A todos mis amigos,

el 22 de enero de 2021 falleció nuestro tio y primo Felipe de Jesús Rangel Galindo en su casa de Denton, Texas a causa del COVID-19. Es un momento muy difícil para su familia, no solo por la enorme pérdida de un esposo y padre maravillosamente devoto, sino porque él era el cabeza de familia económicamente. Ha dejado atrás a su esposa Elma y a sus hijas Kelsey, Sarah y Wanda, de 12, 10 y 8 años. Significaban absolutamente todo para él y él para ellas.

Su esposa e hijas viven en Guatemala. Felipe trabajaba y vivía en Texas para apoyarlos y estaba trabajando para brindarles un futuro mejor a sus hijas. Había hecho planes para finalmente visitarlos el 27 de enero (solo cinco días después de su fallecimiento) después de no poder verlos durante casi un año. Estaba en medio del proceso migratorio de su esposa e hijas, esperando la última entrevista en el consulado estadounidense para finalmente poder vivir con él en Texas. La distancia y el momento, además de un proceso de inmigración disfuncional en los Estados Unidos, ha hecho que sea excepcionalmente difícil para esta familia estar junta, especialmente en este momento de una pérdida tan trágica. 

Su inesperada pérdida de la vida debido al covid ha sido una situación horrible para todos los que lo amaban, especialmente para su esposa e hijas. Nos gustaría pedir su ayuda con una contribución para ayudar a cubrir un poco los gastos del funeral, pero sobre todo para ayudarlos a través del proceso de inmigración para continuar el sueño de Felipe de darles a sus hijas la oportunidad de un futuro mejor en los Estados Unidos. Era su mayor objetivo y queremos asegurarnos de que puedan continuar con sus planes a pesar del trágico cambio de circunstancias. Agradecemos enormemente su ayuda sin importar la cantidad.
