On September 23rd Colleen’s life suddenly turned upside down when Justin, the love of her life, suddenly passed away from a pulmonary embolism.
Justin and Colleen had built a beautiful life together with endless memories and excitement for the future ahead. They were the epitome of soulmates.
Colleen is a planner, and they were excitedly planning their wedding and life together. This, this was not the plan. Justin was taken far too early and far too abruptly, leaving Colleen to navigate life in an all new terrain.
If you knew Justin for any length of time you knew four things: 1. He never met a stranger. Many people call Justin their best friend, and that is the genuine truth because of his loving heart. 2. He lived life to the fullest. He knocked on the door of adventure every moment he never let an opportunity pass by. He had a love for life and he knew it was meant to be lived. 3. His favorite companion and sidekick is Apollo. The best most loyal pup. That brings us to 4. He loved Colleen unconditionally, it was a love story like the ones you see in movies. It was pure, it was real, it was sincere.
Understandably, Colleen’s heart and home feels empty. She has decided she doesn’t want to live in their home without Justin. Justin would want to ensure that Colleen is as comfortable as possible, their community of family and friends have truly rallied around her. You all have given your time, energy, etc. to being there for her during this unimaginable time.
Meet Stacy. Stacy is one of those people who is part of that community that has rallied around Colleen to support her. Stacy and Colleen have been best friends since college, and Stacy has generously volunteered to move in with Colleen.
In order to be able to move quickly, both Stacy and Colleen have to break current leases, put down security deposits, and hire movers. As Colleen begins to go through Justin’s things they will also be renting a storage unit.
So we are reaching out to this beautiful community asking for help in some of the moving finances as the house hunt begins. I know many people are with us when we say we want to make this heart wrenching time as easy as possible and give Colleen one less thing to worry about. We are asking for help in the form of financial assistance (big or small) would be huge, but even some positive thoughts, prayers, etc. would be an amazing help as they search for a new home in Denver.
In additional funds raised will be used to continue to help Colleen during this tragedy.
