CZU Lightening Complex Fires
This is my baby sister, Rebecca, a PhD candidate in Archeology at UC Santa Cruz and she has been dealt a devastating blow. Two days before she was scheduled to leave California to head back to NY for the fall quarter a lightning strike started a fire. As of yesterday (8/20) she is 100% certain that her apartment and all of her belongings in the mountain side town of Bonny Doon have been subsumed by the fire. She has safely evacuated and is staying with a friend. She has the clothes on her back and her car.
We are trying to figure how best to get her back to NY. She is in need of clothing, shoes, personal items, and any assistance to offset her travel. Any help would be appreciated. Once she is back on her feet, any remaining funds will be donated to support other affected by the fires.
With gratitude,
Pam
