It is with Great sadness that the Dott/Mitchell family announces the passing of Amber Dott. Amber passed away this morning 6-2-23 suddenly.
Amber was doing well after surgery and we all were very hopeful for her to get her transplant
We want to give Amber the memorial she deserves ,to honor her memory and say our last goodbyes. I am currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of Ambers funeral.
Amber was a very special girl and a Fighter!!! she fought very hard for her life But unfortunately lost her battle . Her life deserves to be celebrated any donations would be greatly appreciated .❤️
Hi ,My name is Liz and I’m fundraising for Amber Dott. Amber is a 25 year old young woman who was diagnosed with tuberous sclerosis complex at an early age of 6 months old. Tuberous sclerosis is a rare genetic disease that causes non cancerous tumors to grow in the brain and several areas of the body including the spinal cord, nerves, eyes, lungs, heart, kidneys, and skin. Amber has these cysts in her brain which makes her mentally challenged and have seizures. Amber has dealt with seizures throughout her life but are now under control. But now she has a more serious obstacle to overcome. She has been diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease. For the past 2 years Amber has been in and out of the hospital with kidney problem. She started peritoneal dialysis last year after a 2 month hospital stay whis has been doing well up until now. On 3/13/2023 amber got seriously ill and was rushed to the hospital. After many tests and many many blood transfusions she is still in the hospital with numerous health issues due to the kidney disease her health continues to decline. Her kidneys are very large and are putting pressure on her organs and her intestines. She can not keep food down and they can not fit a feeding tube past the kidneys so as of now she is getting nutrients through an IV. A decision to remove both her kidneys was made by her medical team. This surgery will be on 5/3/2023. She will have a long road to recovery after this big surgery. Her mother Kristie is her only caregiver and with that she has missed alot of work due to her daughter's hospital stays and Dr. Appointments. At this time Kristie has maxed out her paid time off at work. No parent should have to choose between being there for there child when they need them the most or going to work. anything will help especially prayers for amber throughout this surgery and recovery time. Amber will have a few more obstacles to overcome before she can start living a somewhat normal life, including finding a kidney and another surgery for transplant.
