Let’s help Karis make memories & financial support

After the devastating news our bubbly, beautiful best friend Karis received early this year, we’ve decided to set up this GoFundMe page to raise some money for her. Any donations are hugely appreciated by Karis, her family, and friends. Thank you so so much in advance.

Karis’s story:

Just three months ago, Karis found a lump in her breast. An obviously worrying thing to find, she went to the doctor to get checked out. After multiple tests, Karis got the devastating C-word diagnosis at only 35 years old, but Karis being Karis, she remained extremely positive and continued to smile.

Coming up to Christmas, Karis started her treatment plan and had all the expected worries about what was to follow. Just one of those worries was about losing her hair from the intensive chemo she was about to receive. As a super talented hairdresser, Karis’s hair is a symbol of who she is, so her friends raised some money to help take some of the stress off her shoulders and buy her a really good wig. We got so many generous donations, and want to say a huge thank you for those too.

Although we were all broken, we remained hopeful. But as the doctors visits became more frequent, we were met with worse news every time. Unfortunately, Karis was told that she had an extremely aggressive form of breast cancer that had a very high risk of spreading to other parts of her body. She underwent even more tests so the doctors could determine if the cancer had spread and waited anxiously for the results.

On the 18th of January 2023, Karis was told the absolutely gut-wrenching news that she had terminal, incurable secondary liver cancer.

Karis’s life has always been about making memories, she’s travelled the world and made some amazing memories along the way. But has a few more she wants to make with her friends and family, especially with her mum and niece. Your donations will mean that she can gain just a bit of control back of her life and make sure they happen.

Even getting the worst news possible, she is STILL the most unselfish person we know. She doesn’t even want to have to ask for any money, but she wants to not burden anyone with any funeral costs. Your generosity will mean she won’t have to.

Her family and friends will know how kind, caring, and absolutely hilarious Karis is. Her smile lights up a room, her laugh is contagious and she’s the strongest person that we know. She deserves the best of the best, and we know that so many of you already wants to make sure that happens.

So we are going to be holding 3 events - Eastbourne Half Marathon, 100k for K and of course we must have a party!

* Preston Forster, Jack Salt, Gianluca Del-Gaudio and Mark Philips are going to run the Eastbourne Half Marathon on Sunday 5th March.

Chanell Denton and Natalie Warrilow will be running a huge 100 kilometres! over weeks for Karis.

* Then on 11th March we will be having a party at the Garden bar There will be great music, with some amazing prizes and more importantly the chance to show Karis how much she is loved by us all! There will be more details on these events soon.

This page will make it a lot easier to have all the contributions in one place. Karis is completely overwhelmed with the messages of support she has received already and is so so grateful for any previous or future donations, no matter how big or small.
