Asalamu alaykom wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatu.
On the morning of 10/12/22 I was attacked by someone I shared an apartment with. I was pepper sprayed, speared with a fireplace poker, and stabbed multiple times with a knife. I was hospitalized for stab wounds to my neck, head, and upper back less than an inch from my spinal cord. The stab to my back punctured my lung, and my lung collapsed. I spent a week in the hospital with a tube in between my ribs. The pain and discomfort were constant, and agonizing. I spent several weeks out of work following discharge from the hospital to recover physically and regain some motor skills. It took a month for my eyes to make a less than full recovery from the blurring and sharp pain from the pepper spray. The motive for the attack is still unknown.
To make matters worse, the company I work ignored my request for FMLA, so I went the whole time without any income at all - in addition to the medical bills racking up a balance exceeding my deductible since not all of my services needed were covered by my insurance.
I’m not asking for more than what was lost; be it medical bills, lost wages, cost of food and medication, rent, car payment, and added safety precautions to protect myself in my home from future incident. I don’t expect to reach my goal in full, but anything helps.
I do, however, ask that all donations be made anonymously, and solely to bring about the pleasure of The Almighty. All acts of charity are good deeds, and all good deeds are acts of charity.
Thank you so much.
JazakumAllah khairan.
