Hey y'all lets pay Shannon and Spikes bills for the next 3 months. I have tried to write this in my head 20 times im just going to copy Shannons post to let you know what's going on with baby Azalea. But I can tell you Shannon is one of the best people alive she would do anything for her family Ive seen it first hand so lets try to give her some of the love she shows her family and friends dig deep give a lot they need freedom to visit their baby lets give it to them please help. here are Shannons words from her post on instagram
"Me and Spike gave birth to Azalea Pearl Hagood on
12/6/23. She's beautiful, but there were a lot of
complications that were unknown during pregnancy
We've been struggling with how to articulate what's
going on. She was born with Vacterl Syndrome. She's
missing part of her esophagus/trachea and a few
other crucial organs. She was immediately rushed
into a five hour surgery with multiple repairs, mostly
to connect her esophagus to her stomach so she can
eat and breathe properly. She's currently stable and
being kept paralyzed and on a ventilator for the next
week or so while she's healing. Our little baby is
already so tough.
She's an extreme case, it's a rare syndrome and they
don't know what causes it. It will be a few years and
multiple surgeries before we can get her to a point
where she'll be able to function without medical
assistance. The good news is, her brain, heart and
bones all appear to be perfect and for that we are
extremely grateful. Because of the complexities of
her care, we're being sent to doctors in Washington
DC for some of the surgeries. We have a long,
intense and expensive road ahead but we have faith
that eventually we can get our sweet baby to where
she needs to be to live a happy healthy life.
Me and Spike are incredibly in love with her, but we
are terrified. There are a lot of tests we're still waiting
on and a lot of unknowns. We've been overwhelmed
by messages and phone calls and really appreciate
the love and support, but please understand why we
haven't responded. I am so proud of Spike who has
been an absolute soldier and angel to both of his girls
through this. He's shown the kind of love, resilience
and strength that I could have only dreamed of as a
father to our sweet girl.
Our baby will be in the NICU for the next six weeks
while we try and process everything that has
happened. If we know anyone who has experience
with this syndrome or available resources please
reach out. And please keep strong beautiful Azalea in
your thoughts and prayers."
