Financial relief for Randy

Dear Brothers, Sisters and Kin, I am starting this GoFundMe

for my uncle, and Bob Shelley's brother-in-law,

Randy Southerland. He is a former member of Local 479 and current member of the Teamsters Local 728. I know many of you know him, but maybe did not know that he is not able to work right now, and will be unable to work for some time.

Last September, he had hip replacement surgery and began experiencing severe pain when walking. He has seen numerous specialists and been hospitalized five times since his surgery. One of his many scans has detected a large malignant tumor in his leg. The doctors have decided that targeted radiation is necessary to shrink the tumor before it can be removed and chemotherapy can begin.

He has applied for disability benefits, but was denied due to the lack of work for the past 6 months. As you can imagine, the medical bills are adding up and with more hospital/doctor bills to come, they need our help. With their many visits to the Emergency Room his wife, JC, caught a virus - which led to pneumonia. Needless to say, this ordeal has taken a toll on them physically, emotionally and financially. I know many of us are still struggling due to the strike, but I also know that our film family takes care of our own and are some of the most generous beings on earth. If you can spare a little for our family member, we will be forever grateful.
