I am setting up this account for my nephew, Wilfredo “Peanut” Soto who h
as recently been diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. In early spring last year he noticed a couple of bumps on the left side of his neck. In August he went for a biopsy of these lumps and was misdiagnosed. By December of this past year the lumps had grown in size and were causing much discomfort. He was no longer able to turn his head to the side and the pain was horrible. He lost 40 pounds and lots of sleep before and since his last biopsies. After a PET scan and a doctor on his toes, Peanut was diagnosed. Testing has shown that the Cancer has spread to his nasal cavity, chest and his bone marrow. (We have put the word out for donors to check out the BETHEMATCH.COM website so we are prepared in the event that this becomes an option.) This week he made the hard decision to put his job on hold while he embarks on this horrible journey to get well. (He’s already been back to work after one surgery!) This coming week he will be having his own bone marrow tested as well as his lungs and heart to make sure they can withstand the chemo procedures. Then he will have his port put in. It is important that he refrain from becoming sick and therefore shouldn’t really be working in retail at this time. We aren’t looking to make Peanut rich but we ARE looking to make him worry free! We love him and want him to have a peace of mind during this time. If there is anything you can do to support him, Prayers included, his family will be grateful as will he. <3
