Financial Loss Due to Major Surgery
Donation protected
Hi Friends,
As many of you know I had to undergo major surgery on September 14th. It was a total ACL Reconstruction and Meniscus Repair. I am mostly bedridden now, will be on crutches for at least 6 weeks, and it will be 12-16 weeks before I am able to start working again as I won't be fully weight bearing until then and this is if everything goes perfectly. The Meniscus Repair has a 60-75% chance of success which means there is a chance I will have to undergo another surgery. I have not worked at my current job long enough to apply for Connecticut Paid Leave, cannot collect unemployment and am not eligible for any other financial help. The injury and then subsequent surgery came out of nowhere and at a time where I felt I was just starting to get on my feet. Some of you know that I am in recovery and have been going strong since March 7, 2022. Even through this my sobriety remains the most important thing in my life. I have also just started school to get certified as a Drug & Alcohol Counselor. I know how amazing community support is when one of us needs help and right now I am asking for your help to cover expenses during this uncertain time. I know times are tough for many of us as we are still just coming out of this pandemic but I have exhausted all of my resources and I am in need. I promise to pay it forward when I am able. Many thanks for your precious time and attention.
In Gratitude,
