Financial Help For Our Dad’s Funeral Expenses

Hello, my name is Alexis and my 73 year old dad, Ted, is currently in the ICU with Covid Pneumonia.

On 12.11.2021, my family was quarantining due to testing positive for Covid. Things took an unexpected and terrifying turn when my dad was hardly getting up and not eating or drinking. His blood oxygen had dropped to 83 and we made the decision to call 911. He was taken to the emergency room where they decided to admit him due to his low oxygen saturation. Within the next 24 hours, they decided to move him to the ICU as a room had opened up.

Over the following days, we realized how serious the situation was. They very quickly had to place him on the highest oxygen flow available through a nasal cannula. Over the past week, there have been many ups and downs. We have all been very worried, losing sleep and praying constantly. At this point, they have attempted to lower the oxygen flow to wean him down, but it has fluctuated quite a bit. His entire left lung is full of pneumonia. He is currently “stable”, but again it has its ups and downs. We are beyond grateful that he is awake and alert most days. He has experienced some confusion and from speaking to him, we can see he’s exhausted from fighting and just not feeling well.

Due to state regulations, we are currently unable to visit him, which is difficult for all of us during the Christmas season. As we continue to pray and stay hopeful, we also have to resume life somewhat normally as we all return to work. We miss our dad. Being alone in the ICU isn’t how anyone would want to spend Christmas.

Being the kind of person he is, he has expressed concern over bills and finances which we have assured him we’ll handle. As it stands, he has no sick leave left and while his job will be available should he physically be able to return to work at some point, we are without our main source of income at this time.

First and foremost, we appreciate all of the encouragement and prayers we’ve received. It gives us all positivity and means so much. We have discussed this and thought about it a lot, and are asking for some financial assistance during this time as bills and daily necessities such as food and gas do not stop when life comes to a screeching halt.

Any and all help is appreciated. If you cannot financially help, we still appreciate prayer and any sharing of our story/fundraiser.

We will update as things change. We believe in miracles and trust God to bring us through this together stronger. ❤️
