Hi my name is Meghan and I am asking for help for my friends Micah and Christina. They have had to face an unexpected challenge no parent should ever endure.
On December 26, 2021 Zoe, their 2 year old daughter, was hospitalized at U.C.S.F Children's Hospital and diagnosed with Choroid Plexus Carcinoma. This is a rare cancerous (malignant) brain tumor that occurs mainly in children. Doctors found three tumors. One massive in size, plus two smaller. Since being admitted Zoe has been subjected to 22 + surgeries, several lasting over 18 hours, along with chemotherapy. The surgeons have told Micah and Christina how this little girl is SO STRONG AND A FIGHTER!!!
A cumulative of events have caused major financial hardship for this family. Commuting several days a weeks with gas prices, has been a challenge, also due to Covid restrictions, Jackson their 5 year old son, is not allowed in the hospital. Thus leaving them unable to work, one parent caring for Jackson and one parent by Zoes side in the hospital. Hotel stay has also been a necessity during key times, such as surgeries, and other critical and pivoting moments. This has caused a huge financial burden on Micah and Christina.
Prognosis for Zoe at this time is still unknown. At this point Zoe is bedridden, without speech, vision is questionable. Doctors have told Micah and Chistina, Zoe will be disabled, and need around the clock care. These parents are in the process of learning how to care for her, from here on out. Zoe is scheduled for more chemotherapy and surgery in the near future.
My plea is that you, if able, help my friends. Any amount makes a difference! Another way to help, is to PLEASE share their story. Thank you for taking the time to read this, please keep Zoe in your prayers.❤️
