Financial help for Lenny's surgery

Donation protected
Hello friends :) Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.

Last Sunday evening, my sweet little one-and-a-half-year-old dog, Leonard, was jumping around in the grass, when suddenly he started yelping out in pain. We took him to a local emergency vet who discovered through some X-rays that his leg had broken in two spots. He was given a splint, and I was told that best case, his vet would be able to re-set the bone and he would heal in a cast.

Unfortunately, when Lenny's vets looked at his injury they realized he needed emergency surgery. The cost of the surgery was astronomical, so I asked what our next best option was, and heard the word "amputation". I know that there are many very happy 3 legged dogs, but in this case and at this point in Lenny's young life, it just didn't feel like an option. I picked Lenny up from his vet and took him straight to VEC, where he was immediately triaged and taken into surgery. The incredible veterinary surgeon at VEC put two tiny metal plates into Lenny's leg and secured them with 8 screws, and now I have a bionic dog.

I didn't think it was possible for me to love Leonard more than I did before Sunday, but seeing him go through this terrible injury and subsequent treatment like an absolute champ has melted my heart in new ways. He is recovering so well, and taking his new reality in stride, but the next 8 weeks are going to be difficult for both of us. While he's healing, he needs almost constant supervision and is on a meticulous med schedule. So, I'm in a tricky conundrum where I need to be working as much as possible to chip away at his vet bills, yet I can't just leave him at home and ask a friend to check in on him. I'm figuring it out day by day with the help of my parents, but the sudden financial toll of this situation is unfortunately out of our hands.

Since last Sunday, Lenny's vet bills have accumulated to almost 12 thousand dollars. That's not including the upcoming weekly follow-ups and x-rays. Unfortunately, this is a financial burden I'm simply not able to afford right now, and so I am humbly asking for help from anyone who has the means. Anything helps, even just a share of this link.

I really can't thank any of you enough for any donation, share, or check-in :)
Lenny and I look forward to big hugs & kisses for you all
