Financial hardship after baby's stay in the NICU
Donation protected
My name is Christina. I absolutely hate to have to do this, but our family is in desperate need of financial help. Please help us catch up on our electric bills, car payments and our son, Preston's medical bills.
Last year, we were in a good place financially but then we had a few unfortunate circumstances drain our savings (our dog busted through a window and needed emergency vet care, our landlord passed and we had to find a new home, and lots doctor visits during pregnancy because Preston was considered high risk for restricted growth). We moved to the new home the weekend before our son was born.
When he was born, he spent 10 days in the NICU due to heart and oxygen issues. We are so grateful that our little man is happy and healthy, but we now owe a little over $20,000 in medical bills.
While on maternity leave, I did not get paid and this caused us to become very behind on our bills. We currently owe approximately $800 to the electric company and we've gotten behind on our car payments.
I returned to work a month sooner than expected and I picked up a second job just to keep food on the table, buy formula and diapers and keep gas in the car.
I'm desperately asking for help to get our family back on our feet and rebuild our savings to create a better life for our sweet boy.
Thanks!
