My youngest sister Rachel was misdiagnosed a year ago with a nerve disorder in her leg, right at the onset of the COVID pandemic, she didn’t feel the doctors had it right and she was correct. The nerve disorder turned out to actually be a rare form of Sarcoma Cancer that began in her left foot and has since spread. Our Amazing 82 and 91 year old parents moved in with my sister in San Antonio, my other sister and I are taking turns traveling from CA & WA to help care as well. Her treatment is at MD Anderson in Houston which is 3.5 hours each way and as this disease progresses her needs are ever changing and the cost & expenses increasing.
Her son, my nephew has been amazing while in his senior year at the University there in San Antonio. We are doing our best to keep him as stable as possible as he finishes up his school year. Our family would be SO grateful to have any ease through this financial embrace, as new equipment expenses are now increasing, as well as her travel will now require a different mode of transportation. MD Anderson in Houston is currently the only facility in the entire state of Texas, with access to the trial she is currently on, so lodging, food and travel for testing & trial infusion will continue there in Houston. Whatever anyone’s heart is moved to donate, is a tremendous help - no matter the amount.
