Some of my friends may know Orisa but most of you probably won’t. Orisa is my West Coast Bestie. Orisa and I met what seems like a lifetime ago in Surprise, Arizona. I will never forget meeting her for the first time because she was so my opposite! She was so bold and outspoken and hilarious and what I noticed right away was how committed she was to her family - shes one of those super selfless, homeschool the kids, make sure they are eating only organic foods, take them to church thrice a week kinda mamas. #goals. At the time, I was pregnant with my first, totally clueless about everything but, I did know that I wanted to be an amazing mama like she was to her babies.
Fast forward a bit, even after I moved back home, we remained close friends. She even saw me through one of the hardest times in my life - divorce and single motherhood. She ALWAYS supported and encouraged me and I have loved her dearly for it. But now it’s my turn to support her.
A little over a month ago, Orisa was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She will be going in for one of two surgeries for a mastectomy this week. The doctors will then determine her prognosis and if more treatment such as radiation or chemo is necessary.
A little more detail about Orisa’s current financial status: she has been holding down the fort as a single mother as her ex husband has not contributed to the the families financial situation since he left the family two years ago. She is a full time working mother putting her kids through school so you can see why financial assistance is incredibly helpful in this current season.
I don’t doubt for a second that Orisa will conquer her cancer, but I’d love to make it as cushy as possible for her during her treatment.
Will you help soften the blow for her and her kids along with me?
Thankful for any and all donations and for prayers and words of encouragement to Orisa, Chris Jr. and Isabel <3
