Financial assistance for Collen Skelly's funeral
Donation protected

Collen passed away on March 31st, 2019 at the age of 22 due to
injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was buried at the
Rosewood Funeral Home Cemetery in Humble, TX on April 6th. The
unexpected financial burden associated with the burial services
coupled with the grieving process is taxing. A casket, viewing and
memorial, graveside service, digging the plot, sealing the vault and
headstone are all tremendously costly and we hope to hit our fund-
raising goal as soon as possible. Unfortunately, a way does not exist to
donate emotional support, but any financial support would be greatly
appreciated. My sister-in-law, brother and their remaining children
have to contend with this for the rest of their lives and any help to
mitigate the monetary stress would greatly improve their quality of
life. Thank you so much for your assistance!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you ever had the pleasure to meet an individual who exemplified
the essence of simply enjoying life? Collen had an inherent ability to
always find the humorous aspect of every situation, to utilize it
precisely as a medicinal cure for what ailed us emotionally. The kid, and
to pass at 22 years old is exactly what he was, seemed to fill any room
with a warmth that buoyed our spirits and soothed the soul. Collen
connected with people in such a way due to his accepting and
approachable demeanor. Co-workers that didn't even work in his
department found themselves greeted with that addicting smile and a
joke when he encountered them. He unequivocally saw the good in us
and empowered us to become something more. It is indisputable the
absence we now feel, the cold void that inhabits where we once felt
warmth. He was a big little brother or a little big brother to my niece
and nephews, a goofy guy that taught me how to "plank" and a dang
decent dart player. He was barely 5 years old when The Chapelle Show
was on, but would quote it with me constantly always vowing to
protect Oprah from harm. HAHAHA! He was so much to so many and
his memorial was a celebration of life rather than mourning his death.
He had recently confided in me that he felt that he had hit his stride in
life, that he was happy and fulfilled and yet, it ends so abruptly. Life is
finite and tragedy is indiscriminate, so please let Collen's death forever
be a reminder to live each day as Collen would have, to the fullest!
