Most people reading this will probably know at least some of the hardships my family has faced since the loss of my father in 2013 so I will save the long backstory here. Currently in 2021, things have been looking up for me. I have been going to therapy and just got a new job that I really enjoy, but there is still one thing holding me back from finally getting to the end of this battle. Like many people during the covid-19 pandemic, my mother was relying on unemployment for survival. Those unemployment benefits ended at the beginning of September. Over the past year my mom’s health has gotten significantly worse and she is now unable to work, but we are still in the long and drawn out waiting period for her to receive disability benefits. This means that I am now supporting the household with only my income. Between my two jobs I am just barely able to afford the basic things that we need to survive. My reason for making this gofundme is for the other things we need but I can not afford. The majority of the money generated from this would be expenses related to my truck. There are several expensive repairs that I have been needing to get done for months on my car but I was never able to save up enough money to fix these issues. Anything left over would go to any extra thing we need but I can’t afford- better mobility aids for my mom, groceries, license renewal fees, and general maintenance for the car I need to get to work. We all have emergencies that happen in life that we need to take care of and at this point I do not have anything in reserve that I am able to fall back on and this would be enough to get me back to a neutral place where I am not constantly worried about my car or any extra things we may need. As always, I am so grateful to all of the wonderful friends, family, and even strangers who have gone above and beyond to help my mother and I over the years. I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and that is thanks to the help of countless people who love and care for us no matter what.
