Financial assistance due to being scammed

Donation protected
My name is Lynn, I am assisting a family friend who's elderly parents were scammed out of $17,000.00 by an elaborate and conniving group of scammers.

The family resides in Sugarland, Texas. These are close friends of mine and we are devastated for them. Jerry and Sandra were contacted on a Saturday morning speaking to who they thought was a police Sargeant, that stated their son in law was being transported to jail from the hospital as he had been in an accident and sustained a broken nose and had a stitched lip. They stated the car was totaled and the accident was his fault. Due to the time of day, they requested to come pick up his bail money as bail bondsmen were closed. Jerry requested to speak to his son in law and they put him on the phone (apparently using AI). They knew all the information of the car, name of spouse and kids, etc. Due to the supposed injuries, Jerry believed he was speaking to his son in law due to all the information he was providing. They requested Jerry to go to bank and withdraw the "Bail Money" and they would send a courier to it pick up. Believing he spoke with his son in law, he went to the bank and withdrew $9,500.00 for the bail. When he arrived back at his facility, the driver picked up the money. The Sargeant called back and stated that the bail would be more now that a child had died in the accident and his charges would be upgraded to murder and requested 7,500.00. Being concerned for his son in law, he withdrew the additional funds and another driver picked up the money.

He arrived at his daughter's out of concern for her and her husband. He was surprised to find the "totaled car" in the driveway. He then needed to see his son in law so he could see the injuries - unfortunately, there weren't any. At this point they realized something was seriously wrong with the situation. They contacted the police, and investigators are tracking down all information that will assist in finding these individuals but have given them little hope.

Unfortunately, Jerry is now having to face the reality of returning to work at the age of 82 years old. No one should have to deal with this at any age much less during retirement years. Any amount of money will help regain faith in humanity and help not to have to return to full time work at 82.
