Hi everyone, my name is Ivey and I am currently 35 weeks pregnant with my first child, Everleigh. My husband and I have fallen on hard times: unable to make this month’s rent payment, my car’s window coming off the track and shattering, leaving me having to drive in 100+ degree temperatures with the window stuck down (a $350 fix at a mechanic shop), having a hard time putting food on the table, late bills, and all with the arrival of our baby girl due 09/19/2023! We’ve been tag-teaming doing Doordash for extra income, but it is almost too much for me to handle being this far along in my pregnancy. I just took maternity leave at my job (which is not covered but under a short-term disability policy AFTER baby is born.) My husband is going to school full-time and working full-time at a new job since being separated from the Navy in March 2023. This new job isn’t going to let him take off for paternity leave since he is new and may not even approve the 3 days off he’s put in for the birth of our daughter. Since I am having a C-Section on 09/19/2023, I am really going to be needing his help during and after birth. He is going to have to keep working every day which leaves me with no help during the night time. We rarely ever ask for help but we are struggling and desperate.
