Financial Aid to Support Justin and Nicole
Friends and Family, it saddens me to inform you all that Justin has been admitted to the hospital again last week (August 22, 2021). Last night, the doctors found bleeding on his brain, he has been put on a ventilator, and continues to fight for his life.
The Back Story
A year ago on August 16, 2020, Nicole brought Justin to the ER for extreme abdominal pain. He was then admitted to the hospital (where he would stay until July 22, 2021) and the next day transferred to the ICU, initially diagnosed with gallstones and Severe Acute Pancreatitis.
Nobody know the long journey ahead.
Justin has endured so much pain and been through so many procedures, some of which includes, dialysis multiple times a week, the Acute Pancreatitis had developed into Necrotizing Pancreatitis, he had been incubated 3 different times, had developed sepsis, had to get blood transfusions, had to have a tracheostomy because he couldn't reliably breathe on his own. There has been abdominal abcesses, infections, multiple drains, a major abdominal surgery, Open Necrosectomy, which was life saving, and he continues to fight each day forward.
While Justin has been hospitalized, my cousin Nicole has been trying to stay strong through this year long battle and continues to take care of all the other obstacles thrown at them.
Nicole takes care of her and Justin's lovely dog Miss Maisel, making sure Maisel is properly cared for while she is with Justin in the hospital. Nicole had to find a new apartment that is wheelchair accessible (as Justin is relearning to sit, stand, walk, etc). She had to pack, move, and come up with all moving expenses on her own (Despite going from a two income household to one income and then losing 7½ months of work on top of it due to uncertanty of prognosis and the Covid restrictions).
Justins parents, Joan and Ron, have taken time off and flown out on four different occasions to be there for Justin and Nicole.
Things began to look up for a short time.
Justin got released from the hospital July 22, 2021. Finally he gets to see his apartment, his family, his dog. Friends and family are overjoyed and happy for Nicole and Justin. Justin almost couldn't recognize himself. He had lost over 100 lbs being in the hospital for a year.
But it was short lived. August 22, 2021 Nicole had to call 911. Justin is readmitted to the hospital back in ICU. Due to complications from everything from the past year.
That leaves us with today
The doctors and hospital staff are doing everything thay can to help Justin.
Nicole has asked friends and family for prayers, positive thoughts, good vibes, MOJO whatever it is that you have to send their way. Justin needs all the positive he can get right now.
Thats why I'm asking if we could show our love and support by helping to relieve some of the financial burden. Nicole should be able to focus on Justin, his health and spending time with him. They shouldn't have to worry about how the car note or rent is going to get paid. If she will be able to take the time off of work to be by Justin's side.
While Justin continues to fight for his life, please say a prayer for Him and Nicole and their family. Ask God for a miracle. And remember to thank God for each day we have with the ones we love.
God Bless you.
And Thank You for reading, sharing, and making your donation.
