To the Beloved Community of Activist and Prison Abolitionist, I come to you today seeking your Mutual Aid (Financial Aid and Assistance). I've been imprisoned now for twenty eight years on a Life Without the Possibility of Parole sentence. Through the Restorative Justice process, I've been able to examine myself through the lens of Accountability, for all the loss of life (my life included), that my actions caused. I've rediscovered myself through the healing power of truth telling (Atonement), community support (Love and Grace), and reconciliation (Activism). I owe life, love, and liberation to others, who've poured an abundance of genuine care, non judgemental deep listening, and the offering of time and space for my healing. Our collective activism has brought about a lot of changes that we have been witnessing - in the criminal injustice system - in regards to "The Brain Science," which considers "youthfulness and the brain not fully developing up to the age of twenty five." Since this significant change in the law, I've been able to retain legal representation, and file a Personal Restraint Petition for resentencing under Monschke. However, we've since filed a "Motion To Stay" proceedings, pending a Psychological Evaluation. My Lawyers name is Kathleen A. Shea, Luminata, PLLC or kate@luminata. Megan Carter, Ph.D will be conducting the evaluation. I seek your financial support towards my physical liberation. Dr. Carter has agreed to evaluate me September 9th and 10th, at a low pro bono of $1,500. I'm also seeking an additional $500 to finance the organizing around this endeavor.
