Support The Breastfeeding Center of Ann Arbor in offering free services and low-cost lactation support to families. A donation of any amount helps us support more babies and parents. Your contribution aids us in providing free community services, like weekly mom-and-baby groups, and can sponsor another family to access lactation appointments, without financial stress.
To prepare for Mother’s Day, we have the goal of replenishing the fund to cover the need for the rest of the year! We’d love all moms and parents to be able celebrate Mother’s Day knowing they have access to our services any time they need it, without worrying about cost.
We’ve raised the goal amount here to cover what we expect families to need for the rest of the year. Since we started our Sliding Scale option, each month we've provided about 7 low-cost appointments, helping families with $75 average per visit from the financial aid fund. We're expecting the need to keep increasing.
The numbers here on the GoFundMe page only show what's been raised, but not what has been used from the fund. As of April, about $6000 has been raised, but the majority of that has been used to support families. So we've raised the goal here for the additional funds needed for future families.

We believe in making great lactation support equally accessible to all, and that it should be a right, not a privilege. We are happy to offer low-cost lactation consults to families who need them, along with our free weekly walk-in mom-and-baby time and parents can come as often and long as they need.
For parents who don't have approval for direct insurance billing, the upfront cost of appointments can be a struggle. Private consultations average $140, and as you likely know, most families need more than one appointment throughout their feeding journey. So that's why we offer low-cost appointments, because we want every family to get the help they deserve without having to worry about finances, especially at an already stressful time of postpartum and early parenting.
With insurance changes over the past year, we're seeing the need for financial support increase, but, to be very honest, there's a limit to how much we can work unpaid. So that's where you come in - any amount you can "pay forward" and contribute will be gratefully used to expand our free services and financial assistance, and allow more parents to get the help and services they deserve.
Thank you on behalf of the families that will receive support!
