My name is Kandie McCauley and I have been friends with Beth for about 7 years. I admire her greatly and as you all know, she is a wonderful mother. Her second son, Derek, was taken to Children's Hospital in Omaha, NE last week. He was positively diagnosed with Guillian Barre Syndrome and has to undergo a number of PLEX (plasma exchange) treatments and tests, including lumbar punctures and MRI's. They will be there at least 2 more weeks. At this time, he is in room 611 at Children's Hospital, 8200 Dodge Street, Omaha, NE 68114. However that is his 3rd room so far, so it may change again.. If you want to send cards you might want to add "OR PLEASE FORWARD IF NEEDED". As I am sure you are all aware, Beth will be missing work to be with Derek. They will also have a new deductible to meet, this being January. And, I can personally guarantee there will be many other expenses incurred while they are away from home receiving treatment.
