One of my greatest friends and a brother in blue, Riley Zapf, was recently re-diagnosed with Large Cell Lymphoma- a type of cancer. By re-diagnosed, I mean Riley has already battled and won against this same cancer twice, so this will be his third battle to fight and win. As this is the third recurrence, treatment is expected to be especially difficult. At this time, treatment will include radiation, chemotherapy, and eventually, a bone marrow stem cell injection. Treatment will be starting soon and will likely take multiple months, though there is no exact timeline at this time. It is expected Riley will have to spend a lot of time in the hospital and in isolation at some points in the treatment process.  I am starting this fund in an effort to help alleviate some of the stress caused by finances as medical costs will grow quickly and it is likely Riley will be unable to work extra jobs for quite some time. If you feel it in your heart to give, every little bit helps and is greatly appreciated. I know a lot of people are struggling financially right now with the state of the economy, so even if you are unable to give at this time, please keep Riley and his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.
