Finally Purchasing A Headstone For My Dad
Donation protected
My dad was murdered on December 22, 2007 by his wife, my stepmom. This obviously caught us all by surprise and therefore, none of us had money saved up to prepare for burial/funeral expenses. With the fact that I was only 12 at the time of his murder, I didn’t have any input (vocally or financially) and was not aware of certain expenses that were unable to be taken care of due to lack of funds. This past weekend (12/18-12/19), I drove 6 hours up north to Livermore, CA where my dad is buried, to visit his gravesite for the very first time since his funeral in January of 2008. I was unaware until I got there that he did not have a headstone so I was unable to locate where he was at and spend the time I wanted with him. I called the cemetery office and was able to confirm he is in fact buried there and inquired if, after 13 years, I can purchase a headstone for him - I CAN! I know it’s a lot to ask and being that we’re in the middle of a pandemic, that most won’t be able to donate and I completely understand. If you are, any amount - big/small, I’d be so grateful. Thank you for taking the time to read this ❤️
