Hello — my name is Nicky.

For the past 16 years I survived domestic abuse that left me homeless, struggling with addiction, and rebuilding my life again and again. I found the strength to take my abusers to court and seek justice. For the last four years I have been living in an HMO where I was still unsafe and experienced further attacks and exposure. I am a white woman who has fought through things many people will thankfully never have to face.

I have just been offered my first council property — a chance I have fought for and prayed for — and I am starting completely from scratch.

My immediate and most urgent need is to hire a removal van and driver so I can move my belongings out of an unsafe environment and into my new home. Without help with transport and removals, I cannot begin this next chapter.

Throughout this journey, I’ve had to face things that would break most people. I’ve felt alone, invisible, angry, lost, and constantly searching for answers about why I had to endure so much pain. But I now believe that surviving all of this has given me strength and a deeper understanding that I can use to help others going through similar experiences. I want people to know they are not alone, and that there is a way through even the darkest moments.

Once I am able to move in, I will need support to furnish and personalise my home so I can finally feel safe and settled. I would also love to buy paint and shelves to make the space feel like mine — small touches that will help me feel free and boost my happiness as I rebuild my life.

I am asking for donations to help with:

- Fridge and cooker

- Washing machine

- Curtains and blinds

- Basic kitchenware and utensils

- Bedding and towels

- Paint and shelves to personalise my home
