Hi, my name is Justin. Over the past few years, I became a Muslim, I was battling addiction and going through a separation. Last year, in the midst of all this, I lost my car, my house and my job. I applied to nursing school in September 2025 for a chance to restart my life but it is not looking like I will be able to get into the program this year.

This is when I started thinking and realized that I have nothing left for me in my current city. It is not very Muslim friendly, everyone knows everybody. I deserve a change and a shot at redemption in a new environment, with new people who are more Muslim friendly and somewhere where people won't judge me based on my past.

This is when I thought to myself, why not move to a different city? Now would be the perfect time. With no car, no house, no job, no friends, nothing to look forward to in this town, I could start fresh elsewhere. My rental agreement for my apartment ends on July 1, which would be a good time for me to move during the summer and give me enough time to find a job and an apartment in the new city before moving. I am thinking of moving to Ottawa, ON, where they have a great bus system and a light rail system for me to get around easily within the city so I will not be so reliant on a vehicle until I can afford to get one, there are a lot more Muslims and people to make friends but it is not as big and expensive as Toronto, ON.

This GoFundMe, would help pay for first and last months rent in the new city I would move to, final divorce costs, monthly bills and expenses from now until I move away, the cost of the move itself and maybe enough to get me a cheap vehicle to get around, insha allah.
