Final Step to my degree: Please help me graduate
Donation protected
My name is Harshil Kumar, I’ve just completed my Software Engineering degree from York University in Canada. During my second year of university, I lost my father unexpectedly. As an only child from a low-income family, I continued pushing through university on my own, doing everything I could to stay afloat to complete my education.
While I’ve completed all my coursework, I cannot receive my official graduation documents due to an unpaid tuition balance. This is preventing me from applying for my Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), which is essential for beginning my career here in Canada.
There is a limited time window to apply for a PGWP after graduation, and I’m quickly running out of time. If I miss this deadline (last week July), I may lose the opportunity to build a career in Canada after everything I’ve worked so hard for.
I’ve tried every option I can think of, but I’ve hit a wall. I’m not eligible for any loans in Canada because I don’t have a job and without a work permit, I can’t legally work. In India, we’ve already maxed out our loan options. My mother has taken out several loans after my father passed to help support my dream of finishing university, and our family isn’t able to take on any more with the resources we have.
I’ve created a GoFundMe campaign to raise the funds needed to contribute in settling the balance.
If you’re able to help in any way, whether that’s through a donation or just by sharing this page, it would mean everything to me. Even the smallest amount makes a big difference. This isn’t easy to ask, but I truly don’t have anywhere else to turn.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read, support, and stand by me during this time.
Please note I have attached supporting documents. My degree progress report is an older screenshot that I had; however, I am unable to provide an updated version.
