Jeff Everman's Medical Surgery Fund

Donation protected
I am Jeff Everman's wife, Diana Everman, and have created this gofundme for Jeff's medical expenses. We are so thankful for the prayer warriors who have prayed for Jeff to be where he is today. God is great always! We never thought we would reach out to our family and friends for financial help, but we are overwhelmed with the amount of medical bills we have now and know that he will need another heart surgery to repair his descending aorta within the next year.

During the December surgery, Dr. Conner was able to repair his aortal aneurysm at the root by replacing his valve with a pig valve as well as rebuilding his enlarged aorta with a Dacron graft up through the arch. Jeff spent 5 days in ICU and 7 days in the hospital. When he came home, he experienced a medical emergency with AFIB where the EMS had to come to the house to treat and transport him back to the hospital because his blood pressure dropped so low that he passed out.

We are thankful that Jeff is in the process of recovering from the December surgery. However, Dr. Conner also said that his entire descending aorta is enlarged to 49 cm because of his aortal dissection in 2013. In other words, his entire descending aorta is a large aneurysm. Therefore, Jeff will need another surgery to repair his descending aorta within the next year. Generally, thoracic surgeons' protocol is to repair aneurysms or enlarged aorta walls when they measure 50 cm, but Jeff needs to recover and gain his strength from the open heart surgery in December.

At the most recent visit on Thursday, Feb. 29th with Dr. Conner, he referred Jeff to a vascular specialist, Dr. Apple to see if Jeff might be a candidate to get the descending aorta done through the groin or in a less invasive vascular method other than opening up the chest again for a 4th surgery. Jeff's consult with Dr. Apple is this Thursday, March 7th. The next surgery will depend on how fast the aortal walls grow from the current measurement of 49 cm and Jeff's recovery.

No amount is too small. Every little bit will help us. If you are unable to donate, just pray for Jeff and the doctors and that they will know the appropriate method and time to operate and fix his enlarged descending aorta to avoid a medical emergency like he experienced in 2013. It was not until recently that we realized that Jeff's condition is considered a chronic condition and something that he will need to deal with for the rest of his life. Every day is a gift and we are thankful for that. Tomorrow is never promised.

All money will go towards the bills he has incurred from the December surgery and any left over will assist us in paying towards his next surgery. Thank you for your prayers and help. We are very blessed and thankful for each one of you. :)

Love,
Jeff and Diana Everman
