Final Resting Arrangements for Ernesto Baez

Donation protected
On January 11th, my 88-year-old father and Korean War Veteran, Ernesto, contracted COVID-19. After two weeks of battling the symptoms at home, he was admitted to the ICU at UIC Medical Center where continues to fight today.
This morning we were informed that my dad took a turn for the worse last night after my mom was able to visit him. His lungs are requiring more oxygen than what the ventilator can provide and his body is fighting the ventilator. We were told it is time to begin making final arrangements. As much as it goes against the faith I have that God is healing him, I do understand that in his critical state I need to begin making final resting arrangements for him for when the time comes, even if it's 20 years from now.
That being said, my father has no final expense life insurance which is why I have turned to ask our friends and family for help during this challenging time for our family. Anything you are able to help us with will be eternally appreciated. The goal is $15,000 which will cover the funeral home viewing, embalming, transportation, coffin, Catholic mass, burial, and all other costs pertaining to funeral arrangements.
I will continue to update everyone on my father's journey.
