Final Push for Bill Whalin's Legacy Home

Many of you know that I have been traveling to Oregon to work on my wife Sarah's parents' house for the last couple of years. My father-in-law, Bill Whalin, has been the patriarch and leader of both the family and this project. They first broke ground on the house in 2022 with the help of his sons, family, and friends. In 2023, Bill started having health problems that affected his ability to work on the house, but he was still vital in all the planning and project management. All of their funds when to medical bills and all his energy to fighting cancer. 

Last month, Bill's health took a drastic turn for the worse, and he suddenly developed aspiration pneumonia and septic shock while in the hospital and passed away Friday, June 6th. While we expected his health to slowly decline within the next few years, this has been a sudden and catastrophic loss to our family, and we are grappling with the task of finishing the house for Mom ASAP. We have put together a team to get it done and we are asking for donations to help with travel, lodging, payment for subcontractors, and any extra materials needed. We do have additional volunteer labor and major purchases taken care of (solar, appliances, plumbing, electrical, etc.). This house is currently 85% finished; we just need some help with the final push.

To all of my friends and family, you know how hard we have all worked on this house and how important it is to our family. Bill wanted nothing more than to get this home finished for his wife, Maureen Cynthia, before he left us. Anything you can donate will be such a blessing. Thank you.
