Final Farewell for our Father Andy
Donation protected
Let me tell you about our father, Andrew “Andy” Makela. I met Andy playing the MMORPG World of Warcraft in late 2008. I had just created a new Blood Elf Paladin exploring Eversong Woods and was on my way to defeat “Thaelis the Hungerer”. A random person had whispered me wanting to group up and my first thought was to say “No” since I generally stick to myself. But this time I said “Sure!”. Little did I know I had just met my future Father.
He inherited a tribe of 9 when he married our mother, Luann, 7 years ago. He was the one that we could call who would go out of his way to pick us up if we had car trouble, who we could ask advice to, he was crafty, intelligent, loved movies, TV shows, it didn’t matter what it was. Andy would happen to accidentally spill his coffee on his pants (The handle on his cup broke off randomly, how does that happen?) and make us laugh. He would forget to put sunscreen on his head and turn as red as a tomato and would always, always, always tell us that he loved us. Andy was and will always be the best Father anyone could wish to have. He is the only person who deserved to be called “Dad”.
After weeks in the hospital and finally on his journey to recovery; Our Father, Andrew “Andy” Makela earned his angel wings at 8:36pm on 10/23/2021. He was 54 years old. We know he was greeted by his father and lovely aunt up in heaven with open arms. Andy was a loving Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Grandpa, and Son.
He was such an inspiration to our family and we are eternally grateful to have had him share his life with us. Our lives are forever touched as painful as this is for us to grasp, we are comforted with the knowledge that he is no longer in pain.
All donations will go towards his funeral and medical expenses.
Thank you.
