Wang Ye Vang, at age 54, battled long term terminal illness from heart failure in 2008 and passed away at age 67 from heart failure due to the after effects of COVID-19 on Monday, January 4, 2021 at his residence in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Wang Ye Vang was born on December 31, 1953 to Pang Chai Vang and Youa Chang in Laos.
He was Vietnam Veteran. He graduated from Central High School in 1992 and Saint Paul Technical College in 1994. He retired from Thomson Reuters after 14 years of service in 2012. After retirement, he did seasonal farming while selling and supporting the following farmer’s markets: Cgucc Farmers’ Market, Bloomington Farmers Market, and Brooklyn Park Farmer’s Market.
He was a humble, kind, and simple man. Yet, he was strong willed with a big heart. To many of his friends and family, he is regarded as a leader and father figure. One who would always help those in need. He was very goal orientated, handy, and dedicated to the things he set for himself. Whether it was as simple as cooking a meal, or bigger projects like building a new garage and renovating homes. He never wanted to disappoint anyone and worked hard to make ends meet. He valued his family and spent most of his time with his children. He especially loved being with his grandchildren.
Although his heart has stopped beating, the memories he left behind with his friends, family and community will continue to live on.
Wang Ye Vang is survived by his mother, two wives, twelve children, eleven grandchildren, two brothers, and two sisters. Wang Ye Vang is preceded in death by his father Pang Chai Vang, eldest daughter Maim Vang, second daughter Yis Vang, son Tswj Yim Vang, and younger brother Nhia Bee Vang.
Due to COVID-19, a private family service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 8:00 AM at Legacy Funeral Home - West Chapel (255 Eaton Street, Saint Paul, MN 55107). Following burial at Roselawn Cemetery (803 Larpenteur Ave W. Saint Paul, MN 55113).
