We are organizing this fundraiser for Deanna Meisels and her family as they support Shawn, a loving husband and father of four kids. Shawn has been battling a rare disease known as extra skeletal osteosarcoma for the past year and, sadly, has exhausted all treatment options. He was placed in hospice a few weeks ago, hoping to make it through the holidays with his family.

Deanna and Shawn are both active members in their community. Deanna sings in the local Catholic church choir and Shawn was a den leader for his sons' Boy Scout troop as well as a member of the church's Knights of Columbus. To add to this current heartache, Deanna lost a husband, and her children lost their biological father, to ALS. Deanna met Shawn sometime after, and he stepped up to be a caring father to four kids who had lost so much as well as a devoted husband. This family has been through so much pain.

We are hoping to fundraise enough to pay for final expenses for Shawn. Deanna never asks for help and has had to cash in her retirement to pay for medical bills. Deanna is so giving to her community, church, and family, so we want to take the burden off of her as she is dealing with so much already.
