Ramon is completing his final days at home with his family being kept comfortable based on his own wishes.
After a lengthy battle with diabetes that led to 14 years on dialysis, Ramon is ready to move on. He has had a good life, the love of his his daughter, Ariane, and an enjoyable career in sports memorabilia. He felt very fortunate to have met so many wonderful people in the memorbilia business that became like family to him. The comments from those who remember his smile and his willingness to help those new in the business has been very important to his family.
Again, Ramon has had a good life. He grew up in East Los Angeles, to Ramon Sr. and Carol and spent a great deal of his youth in the care of his grandmother, Josie, and grandfather, Chato. Both extended families were involved throughout his life and he had a group of friends that he stayed in contact with since elementary school. He married in 1990 and his only child, Ariane, was born in 1991. He has been an avid sports fan since his youth, especially the LA Dodgers, USC Trojans and Lakers. He was a huge fan of Steve Garvey and collected his items. By his teens he was collecting memorbilia and sold and traded at shows all over Southern California.
As Ramon moves on, his family would appreciate any stories you have of your interactions with Ramon or how he may have touched your life.
The family is in need of any assistance they can get to help with the final expenses related to cremation, a small memorial gathering and burial. At this very emotional time, the family appreciates all the support they have recieved and the outpouring of comments via Facebook. They hope to be able to thank you personally at his memorial.
