final expenses for Oscar Manuel Parodi

Donation protected
Our brother Oscar Parodi passed away on 12/8/2020 due to complications from a stroke and COVID-19.  We, his surviving siblings Raymond, Vivian, Ana and Elvira are unable to to pay for his final expenses due to being disabled and on limited incomes. It grieves our hearts that we find ourselves in this position as we loved our brother very much and are saddened by his sudden loss.  We would very much like to give him a simple burial and service as a final goodbye and ask that if it touches your heart and you would like to donate, any amount would be received with love and gratitude.

Our brother was a very special person with a good sense of humor and one who loved his family.   He was a 911 dispatcher for over 20 years and was so good at his job that he was sent to Puerto Rico to set up their 911 dispatch and train their people. This was a very high honor for him and  we his family were all very proud of him.  He also received an award for saving the life of a child and was part of the Big Brother Program which brought him immense satisfaction.

He was a favorite among law enforcement due to his calm demeanor and practical manner.  However,  he was not above a practical joke and if an Officer was not doing his job he would receive all the "dead dog" calls on that shift.  His love and concern for his family was always evident as during the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake our sister, Vivian found 3 police units at her front door to make sure she was safe.  His sense of humor also came through whenever he received a call about a cat in a tree, his response was to ask the caller if they had ever seen the skeleton of a dead cat in a tree and of course the answer was no so the cat would get itself down.  Unfortunately after 20 years he had to leave his position due to health issues and he was very saddened by it.

Finally, our brother was a big animal lover and was especially fond of cats of whom he always had a handful around.

The funds requested would cover the costs of cremation, shipment of his remains from California to Idaho, a niche in a Mausoleum, a memorial service, an urn and costs associated with paperwork such as death certificates, etc. we would need the funds as soon as possible as his remains are at a funeral home in California pending disposition. Our sister, Vivian Sanchez will be in charge of distributing the final expenses.
