My dear friend, Donna Russell, is likely to be with us for only a couple more days.  I was fortunate to visit her on Sunday and to have the opportunity to let her know just how much i love her, and how much her friendship has meant to me.  She has battled stage 4 colon cancer for the last 3 1/2 years and has faced this journey with strength, courage and faith.  I have been blessed to have her as a friend and she has made a big impact upon the lives of many.  I will never be the same without her.  

When Donna left her position at NKU to move to Florida to raise her granddaughter, and to assist her daughter in her own recovery, she lost her life insurance benefits.  Her plan was to get a new job in Florida.  But, she was in Florida only a matter of weeks before she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer.  

The financial cost of cancer care is enormous and Donna and Keith struggled to make ends meet throughout this journey.  I would like to assist them by raising money for Donna's final expenses and the cost of the families travel from Florida to NKY to hold a memorial service in her honor.  ANY amount would be MUCH appreciated. and would be put to good use.   While ANY AMOUNT of money will NEVER replace a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a dear friend, or any loved one....it can help a family to begin to heal without the enormous burden of final expenses.  

So, I ask you to consider a donantion, any amount, for Donna Russell and to please remember all who love her in your thoughts and prayers.  She has touched the lives  of so many people, and was stolen from us by cancer, far too soon.  Pray for a peaceful ending and a welcome in heaven by loved ones.  They must be estatic to know that she is coming to join them.  I have asked her to save me a seat at her table.  :)
