Last night (1/17/19) my mom, Wanita“Peanut” Drake-Pray passed away and is now with our sister; Tracy who passed away just 2 years ago. With all of the deaths in the last 2 years (our father just 11 months ago), our family is unable to cover all of the burial and medical expenses. My Mom would not want her kids to worry about money so, anything you can do to help ease the financial stress of laying our mother peacefully to rest, next to her daughter Tracy would be greatly appreciated!
Mom and I did take out a $10,000 life insurance policy on her about 6 months after my dad died in February 2018 but they only pay out after 2 full years of it being in effect, so we won’t have that to help with her expenses. We aren’t even done paying off dads funeral expenses yet nor our sister Tracy’s (the driver of the vehicle that killed her promised to pay for her funeral but he didn’t follow through on that. The vehicle insurance settlement hasn’t gone to her kids yet, but once it does the amount owed of around $8k will be paid).
So, any dollar towards moms expenses would help and is greatly appreciated!!
Mom had diabetes and developed an infection from an insulin shot she gave herself (needle was clean) that ravaged her body within days. She went septic then developed a flesh eating bacteria that ate away her entire abdomen from below her breasts down to her pelvic area and both sides. Those entire areas were removed. Her kidneys shut down and she was on dialysis and on life support for 5 days (kidneys, lungs and heart). The doctors, surgeons, and entire ICU did anything and everything they could to keep mom as comfortable and safe as possible. She had very little chance of survival and had a miracle occurred and she did, she would have been in excruciating pain for the rest of her life with needing endless surgeries, skin grafts, possible feeding tube, tracheotomy, and many many other life altering things. She likely would never walk again or leave a bed. She would never have wanted that.
