Final Curtain Call for Ric James

My name is Debbie, a long-term friend of Ric James and his wife Cherrie. Sadly, Ric passed away this week after a long battle with a serious illness.

Ric was not only a giant in our Australian entertainment industry, but a gentle soul who was a kind, loving and generous friend to many. Ric's talent and passion for music brought his audiences joy, and his sense of humour put a smile on the faces of everyone he worked with.

Unfortunately, it is tough to make money in the Australian music scene and there is no holiday, long service or sick leave. Cherrie has carried the financial burden of Ric's final years, especially raising their beautiful daughters Dior and Tia.

We can't take the pain of losing Ric away, but we can help Cherrie and the girls give Ric the farewell he deserves. He bought music, laughter and friendship, not to mention many happy memories to us all. Now it's time for us to give a little back.
