i hate that i’m writing this. i have been overwhelmed with love, condolences, and support. i am forever grateful for every single phone call, text message, flower and meal delivery. i love you guys. thank you ❤️ now we need to ask for help.

the last 24 hours have been so hard. my brother charvis and i unexpectedly lost our mom yesterday.

she underwent an orthopedic surgery to repair a fracture in her leg on monday. the surgery went well and she was doing great! yesterday evening she complained of some nausea and was given medications and found without a pulse shortly after.

it is unclear what caused her heart to stop beating. as much as i wish i would have prepared better for this, you can never ever prepare for losing your mom.

this pain is indescribable. not having clear answers is awful. we have limited time to make arrangements for my mom, and not enough information to make an informed one. and of course, the holidays…

charvis and i have decided that in order to honor her wishes (to go home to oklahoma and be with her family), it is best that we have her cremated and plan for a celebration of life in the new year. this way, we can bring some of her ashes home as well as keep some here with us. we are working with a cremation company that has quoted us $1625 for the cremation.

honestly…i’m just thankful if you’ve read this far. my mom was a fighter, she fought all her life and i hope to make sure she is at peace and can finally rest. thanks ❤️
