Final Arrangements For Eric
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Stephanie, and I'm raising funds for my husband Eric's final arrangements. Eric is currently on hospice care at home. We do not know exactly how much time he has left, but the nurses have been telling me that he is in the process of declining.
Eric is a bit older than I am, and he has suffered from health problems, so life insurance has not been an option for him. He has not been able to work since before we were married almost ten years ago, so he is getting a modest government check every month. I have not been able to work since he had his stroke in 2019 because I have been his primary caretaker.
These circumstances leave us with virtually no savings and I am worried about how I'm going to pay for his funeral and burial. I realize that cremation is less expensive, but Eric has always told me that he would really like to be buried and not cremated. I would feel incredibly guilty if I had to go against his wishes.
I debated for a long time on whether or not to create a fundraiser. I do not like to bother others or ask for help, but I simply do not know what else to do. Eric is a veteran and from what I understand, the VA will pay a $300 burial allowance and $747 for the plot , which is not nearly enough to cover everything. We are not that close with his family, so I honestly do not know what they will be able or willing to help with.
All funds will be used to honor Eric's memory. This could include paying for the funeral, burial plot, headstone, etc. or paying for miscellaneous related items such as funeral attire, travel to and from the funeral, etc.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story. Any donations will be greatly appreciated.
