Hello everyone,
Our family is facing one of the hardest moments of our lives. My father has recently entered hospice due to congestive heart failure. While we are focused on keeping him comfortable and surrounded by love, we are also preparing for the difficult days ahead.
Here are some words from him.
My name is George Patrick Register, born July 15, 1969. I am a proud graduate of Auburndale High School, where I had an incredible experience filled with lifelong friendships, music, basketball, and constant activity. Auburndale shaped who I am, and although it has changed over the years, it will always hold a special place in my heart. It was good to me, and I will always love it.
Those who know me know that I’ve always loved to laugh and, more importantly, to make others laugh. Bringing joy to people has always come naturally to me. However, when your body is tired, hurting, and battling health challenges, laughter becomes harder to come by.
I am a proud U.S. Army Reservist veteran, having served for eight years with an honorable discharge. During my service, I worked as a medical instructor, which eventually led me to a career as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RCDS). Through my work and travels, I’ve had the opportunity to see many states, meet many people, and gain a deep appreciation for life and humanity. I truly love people.
Right now, I am facing significant health challenges. Because of this, I haven’t been able to see or talk with many of you lately—not because I don’t care, but because I simply haven’t been doing well. My daughter has lovingly stepped in to help share my story and organize this page on my behalf.
The doctors are doing what they can, and we are hopeful as we move forward one step at a time. I wanted to take a moment to reach out and let everyone know how much I love and appreciate you all. Your support, prayers, and kindness mean more than words can express.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you for being part of my life.
With gratitude,
George Patrick Register
