Anna’s Plight

Life’s anew, barely twenty-two. The love of your life,

has made you his wife.

Life is full of surprises, some good, some bad. You embraced what you were given

And never dwelled on the sad.

The first of three, was not meant to be.

But, second and third, your praises were heard.

Your burden to bare, was not often shared.  Carefree and strong is the picture you’ve drawn.

Your success is amazing and passed to your kids.

You have taught them well, in all that you did.

There may come a day when the lord takes you away.

But, not without a fight to a lifelong plight.

Although we will miss you, more than words can say.

We will think of you every single day.

We can hear your spirit sing, “Don’t cry for me.”

“No more worry, no more pain, I am finally free.”

-Aimee Beck, sister in-law of Anna Dorsey

Anna Dorsey has always been the love of our family, she was bright, positive, and enthusiastic. The above poem was written in 2016 to summarize Anna’s life to that point. Everyone who knew our beloved mother, sister, and friend knew that Anna had a great heart and personality. She is loved and of course she loved in return, we all have felt God’s light shine through Anna. As her child, I may be biased, but Anna is the greatest influence in my life. Anna recently passed away at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, as a family, the burden of death has already proven to be hard, but finances will be difficult as well. We are creating this fundraiser in hopes of bringing some financial peace to my father, Douglas Dorsey. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as well as thoughts and prayers, we need all that we can get.

Anna became horrendously sick in April of 2016, for four years Anna fought a hard battle with Antiphospholipid syndrome, which often resulted in multiple blood clots at one time, in the fall of 2017 Anna lost her eyesight, but from that day on she made the decision to always be happy; no matter the circumstance, Anna woke up everyday and told anyone she came into contact with that they had a choice. That choice is: you can either be upset and disappointed in your situation or you can lift your head high and enjoy what God has given because life is precious and we’re only here for a short time. Anna will forever be remembered as a radiant young woman, thank you all for your considerations to the Dorsey family.
