Erica chose to become a Family Physician after growing up poor and realizing the impact community medicine can have on individuals and families. Since beginning her medical training, she has specifically focused on gaining the education and training necessary to become an abortion provider. She was the first in her family to  become an MD.

Unfortunately, Erica's medical training has been interrupted due to unforeseen barriers and she will need help with the following: legal fees, biweekly therapy sessions, DEA license fee,  CA medical license fee and monthly bills until she is able to find new employment.

Previously, Erica had considered postponing her Step 3 exam, so was planning to extend her Uworld subscription, but this did not end up being necessary. She took her exam Feb 5/6th and is awaiting the results.
