The journey to complete the feature film Harvest has been unlike anything I’ve experienced in over twenty years of filmmaking. What began as an astonishing project about the true story of illegal organ harvesting in the aftermath of the Kosovo War evolved into a seven-year odyssey marked by political pressure, betrayals, forged documents, and extraordinary challenges. Yet at every turn, I stayed committed to telling a story that exposes a brutal and hidden industry—one that continues globally today. This project has never been about fear or defeat; it has always been about courage, accountability, and the power of art to illuminate what others try to keep in the shadows.
Despite the chaos behind the scenes, Harvest was brought to life by a remarkable international team—Serbian, American, British, German, Macedonian, Croatian, Israeli, Hungarian, Puerto Rican, Australian, and South African artists who gave everything they had, often working through weeks of unpaid labor, because they believed in the truth at the heart of this film. Their integrity and resilience are the real miracles of this journey. The film is finished, but new obstacles have emerged. I am now being sued in the United States by a lender attempting to damage me personally and seize control of the film. The claims lack merit and will not withstand the scrutiny of a courtroom, but defending myself, the film, and the other lenders has exhausted all my personal resources.
I am launching this campaign to secure the support needed to stand up to these baseless legal attacks, protect the film, and ensure its release remains in the hands of those who built it with honesty and sacrifice. These funds will allow me to defend against the erroneous lawsuit, safeguard my ability to sell the film, and ultimately repay the artists and investors who risked so much to bring Harvest to life. My goal is not simply to fight a legal battle—it is to uphold a story that speaks to justice, human dignity, and the resilience of truth. If you believe in independent filmmaking, in confronting corruption, and in defending creative integrity, I greatly appreciate any amount that you could donate. The madness has been real—but so have the miracles, and with your help, the biggest one is still ahead.
