Film 'To All the Girls I Could've Loved Before'
Donation protected
Hi, I'm a Cuban filmmaker living in New York City, and I'm fundraising to produce a narrative short film titled 'To All the Girls I Could've Loved Before.' Our story is about Raúl, a gay man who experiences an inexplicable crush on Ella, a captivating woman at a New York City bar.
This screenplay was recently selected by Short. Sweet. Film. Fest., and WILDSound FEEDBACK Film and Screenplay Festival. The last one said of our script: "This story does not bog itself down with overly simplistic approaches to sex and love. In fact, it dips its toes in the water of a much broader conversation about sexuality."
With this fundraiser, we will be able to:
1- Pay salaries to 25 people (talent, production, and post-production crew). They will be working on this project, during different stages of our four-week production schedule, from pre-production to final master delivery.
2- Rent professional camera equipment, anamorphic lenses, and first-quality lights.
3- Cover our production's insurance costs.
4- Pay for music rights.
5- Graphic design services (poster, titles, etc.).
6- Film submission to festivals.
By March 21st, 2022, we will start using these funds in the pre-production of 'To All the Girls I Could've Loved Before.' We want to film on March 29th and 30th, 2022, and have the final master by April 20th, 2022.
If you can help us produce this film, you will be supporting the work and career of 26 artists.
Our film is a real-life story written by my friend Raúl Reyes Mancebo when he moved to Montreal from Havana. As a gay immigrant myself, I'm driven to portray this story about the mysteries of human connection. 'To All the Girls I Could've Loved Before' would be my first professional short film shot in the United States, with a diverse cast and crew, and LGBTQ+ themed.
Further down the line, I want to pitch this film to production companies as a pilot for a TV series about the struggles and dazzlement of a Cuban gay man resettling in New York City.
Your help will be invaluable in the making of our short film.
A million thanks in advance for all your help.
