Ok.. Lets get personal.. 
At 347lbs and two decades worth of weight struggles, stigmas and sadness, I made a decison. In 2010, I opted and was blessed to be able to have Bariatric Weight Loss Surgery at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, NY. 

Let me tell you, following through with this decision has been the hardest, yet most rewarding journey i’ve ever been on!  Almost 6 years later and 150+ lbs down, being mindful and intentional with my diet, staying physically active, and making sure to surround myself with inspiration and  positive motivation has been the secret to my success. I've become  extremly passionate about inspiring others on their journey to wellness.

The Exciting News!
I have been asked to speak on a panel at the May 2016  Weight Loss Surgery Foundation of America's National Conference in Nashville, TN. The WLSFA is a nonprofit organization that raises money for those who cannot afford this life saving surgery. In 43 days, our panel will be speaking about the impact of Obesity and Weight Loss Surgery as a young adult. This is my first public speaking event!

2015 was very difficult. After losing my job, my income had become nearly non-existent and discouraging to say the least. However, this has not detered me from staying in the fight. 

2016 is a rebuilding year for me and this trip will do wonders in helping to build my brand for the fight against obesity, but I can NOT do it alone, so I am asking you to #FightWithMoxey!

To attend this conference, the round-trip airline ticket costs roughly $750 from NY to TN, the conference tickets are part of how we raise funds for the surgeries and will cost $250.  The other $700 is to cover hotel stay and other expenses that may pop up during my trip such as baggage fees or tips, as well as cover the fees charged by GoFundMe and WePay. Any additional funds will be donated to WLSFA to help save someone else's life!

This experience has lit a fire in me that only gets brighter when I share and empower others. I discovered my passion for wanting to make this my career. I actively seek opportunities such as this to learn, stay engaged and cheer for others on their journey.

I am so excited for this next step and with God's blessing, this is only the beginning!!
