Flowers 4 Two Little Futures

We lost Kevin Brian Sheik (1977 – 2015) as he has decided to be with God way too soon. We strive and pray not to feel that we were cheated of many years with him, but cherish the gift of the years everyone had.
How do I even begin to write something to express the sadness this tragedy has brought upon an entire family and friends? Every day, I have been trying to think of ways to help ease the pain and confusion for my little sister, Cheryl, and her two sons, Mason and Merrick. The incident came so fast, without warning or understanding. No matter the reason for the tragedy, as it DOES NOT matter, NOTHING will bring Kevin, the Dad, the Husband, Son, Brother and best friend to many BACK.
I think when tragedy occurs, it presents a choice. You can give in to the void, the emptiness that fills your heart, your lungs, constricting your ability to think or even breathe. Or you can try to find meaning, and live on.
What needs to be said is that my Sister Cheryl is strong, insanely creative, strong-willed, super funny and HATES asking for help. BUT she is 1st a Mother above all else. She thinks ONLY of her kids first. During this sadness all she wanted to do was protect them from hearing words, gossip, and JUST everyday life. My first nephew Mason, who will be 4 in November, is clearly in touch with any the feelings and emotions surrounding this, where understanding all of the change will take time. He is truly brilliant, and the most thoughtful little man I have gotten to love. Merrick, turns 1 in December with the coolest birthday ever, born 12-13-14, is ready to take the world by storm…no fears, and clearly trying to keep up with Big Brother Mason. Merrick’s piercing blue eyes are just one of his gorgeous features; my sister has heartbreakers on her hands.
This campaign is to try to make sure that those two little boys futures are given the best, most loving, and happiest FUTURE ever!! No matter what path they take in life, THEY will always know everyone is BEHIND them, and patiently waiting to see what they accomplish!! Their futures hold great paths with endless possibilities and opportunities waiting.
My sister has asked for no flowers please, and in lieu of flowers she would appreciate any of your prayers and well wishes with how you knew Kevin, or any wonderful memories you can share with the boys to help them know, remember, and enjoy more about their Dad. The Family is beyond thankful and blessed with love. If able to donate, any amount is a blessing and TRUST that you will see your contribution in the years to come from the eyes of Mason and Merrick as their lives flourish!
