Fighting for Angela

Anaplastic oligodendroglioma. Words you never want to hear at the doctors office. It is a complex and aggressive form of brain cancer that can grow for years without detection, and then one day change your life forever. At 26 years old, this was a sudden reality for my good friend Angela.
(Angela and her little guy, Icarus.)
The strength it takes to wake up each day, face the world and carry on as we all do can sometimes be daunting. Imagine doing that while fighting a war within your own body. My friend Angela is a shining example of strength and positivity. She has so many of us who adore her and she manages to wow us every day. Her artistic nature, her intelligence, her generosity but most of all her kindness and empathy for those around her. This is a wonderful person who's life has been twisted and flipped upside down by a terrible disease, yet she maintains her kind, loving, caring, joyous presence in the lives of so many people. She's the daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, friend, stranger on the street you wish you knew. So many people need her here, in our lives, sharing the wonderful moments we always have. Let's keep the memories going and carry them throughout a life time.

Although Angela has remained strong, she also has days where it's too much, where things feel hopeless and the world feels cold to her throughout this ordeal. She is not always up to see people as days can be filled with pain, headaches, nausea, memory loss and seizures. It has changed her life entirely and has kept her from doing a lot of the normal things we all take for granted every single day. Shortly before she was diagnosed, Angela had successfully graduated from school for accounting, and now she no longer has consistent memories of her schooling. Sadly, her treatments are not covered under government medical because they are still in the researching phase but are successfully finding alternative treatments for aggressive brain tumors. Her bills are well over 1k a month and rising, as she does all she can to kill this vicious disease. Let's help her fight for her life.

Last month confirmed what we all were hoping, her treatments are working. This typically aggressive form of cancer is now stable.

Angela has always risen above everything, I admire her for it. I needed to do something to help her through this. Every one of us either has or will need help at some point in our lives, it's her turn to catch a break, she deserves this. Please, if you can donate anything it will go towards keeping our lovely Angela well and continuing her fight against this disease. We can kick cancers ass but we must band together! We CAN do this!

I would also like to thank all the kind gestures many have already given to my awesome friend, she along with all those who love her, of which there are many, appreciate everything you've done and given. You've sparked a light in this deep, dark tunnel and given us hope.
Thank you again!
